epos system for chinese takeaways

EPOS system for
Chinese takeaways.

A good EPOS system for a Chinese takeaway handles a long numbered menu, set meals with a choice at every step, and a phone that never stops ringing. Manto Till does all three, joins your website orders to the same queue, and takes zero commission on orders that come direct.

What a Chinese takeaway menu asks of a till

A Chinese menu is long, numbered and full of choices: the dish, the sauce, the rice or noodles, the spice. The staff who ring it in are doing it at speed, often with a customer on the phone. A till that makes them page through screens loses minutes on every order.

Manto Till is built for that rhythm: big touch tiles by category, a favourites bar for what sells every night, search by name and a keypad so a table of six sets of the same dish is two taps, not twelve.

Set meals and choices, without the mistakes

Meal-deal builder

Walks staff through each part of a set meal, so a starter or a side is never forgotten.

Sizes, options and toppings

Single choice and multi choice, such as sauce, noodle or rice and spice level, priced as they are chosen.

Notes on any line

“No MSG”, “sauce on the side” prints on the kitchen ticket against that dish.

Kitchen and counter print separately

A jam on one printer never stops the other, and drinks can go to a different printer from the wok.

The phone is half your trade

A lot of takeaway trade still comes by phone. Manto Till looks the caller up by number, so a regular's name, saved address and last order are on screen as you answer, and their usual is one tap.

The hardware caller ID box shows who is ringing before you pick up. Delivery zones by postcode, distance or named area, each with its own fee and minimum, mean the till tells you whether you deliver to the address you have just been given.

Your own ordering website, with no commission on it

Customers who find you on a marketplace pay the marketplace, and the marketplace keeps the customer. Orders from your own website and app come straight to your till, carry the customer's name and number, and cost you no percentage of the order.

Cash and, once your card key is live, card, Apple Pay and Google Pay at the checkout. Card payments carry the card processor's own rate; the payments page explains how they work.

When the internet drops on a Friday night

The menu lives on the till and orders are priced on the till, so counter orders carry on when the wifi does not. Tickets keep printing, and anything taken offline is sent once when the connection returns. Online orders wait until you are back, and the till says so plainly.
